Kibbutz Allonym, near Qiriat Tivon, had been a recruited kibbutz right from the start.
The members of the kibbutz were mostly Hagana members. The members of the kibbutz were the first in the north to take initiative actions in defending the kibbutz- "to take the actions outside the settlement's fence". Many of the members were known for their security activity, even after the foundation of the state.
