Kibbutz En Gev is the first Israeli settlement east of the Sea of Galilee. It was founded as a Stockade and Watchtower settlement in July 1937, as a preliminary action to the Peel Commission's report of the partition of the land, which left all of the eastern shore of the Sea of Galilee outside the Jewish state.
