Kibbutz En Charod, of the first settlements in Jazreel valley (1921), had been, ever since its foundation, a center of the security activity of the Hagana. In the 1920's and 1930's it was involved in building defense arrays and purchasing weapons. In 1938 it hosted the headquarters of the Special Night Squads, Wingate's - the Yishuv's British friend- SNS.
