Giv'at Olga, near the coast of Hadera, had been a small neighborhood in the city in the days of the British mandate, where a British Coast Guard Fortress was located. Its job was to prevent ships of illegal immigrants from reaching the shore. The fortress had been blown up- twice- in 1945 and 1946 by a Hagana's attack squad. The fortress in Sidna Ali was blown up as well.
