Mount Scopus
Mount Scopus, overlooking Jerusalem from the east, interlaces in the Hagana's annals because of the Hebrew University, founded on the top in April 1925.
The institute did not encourage either the students or lecturers to do any activities beyond their academic duties. Nevertheless, students and staff joined the Hagana individually.
Quite a few of them were slain in the War of Independence and on skirmishes related to mount Scopus, before and after the war.
