Sde Dov, in north Tel Aviv, was the Hagana's central airport, in the beginning of the War of Independence. In May 1948 it was bombed -by the Egyptians, and all unharmed aircrafts left within, were transferred to other airports. The story of this airport is laced into the story of the aerial service, the foundation of the Israeli Air Force.
